In 2013 I took part in a 6-week peer mentoring project at Lightcliffe academy. This involved learning and developing skills such as listening and communicating with a range of younger students regarding issues such as bullying.
2014

March 2014, I spent one week on work experience at an architect’s office. This included observing CAD work, complying with health and safety when on site, taking measurements on site, and then cross-referencing with the plans and converting measurements to AutoCAD.

I worked at Streamline gym as a casual receptionist for two years. This involved good communication with the general public and gym members. I took part in walkthroughs for potential members, aiding them with gaining memberships, general cleaning, organization of equipment, and working with other sales such as nutrition supplements.

I have also been a class representative in my first year of college and a student governor in my second year which involved attending meetings with professionals from a variety of industries, mostly in construction.

At College, I have had a year’s worth of AutoCAD experience at level two and then in my second year, I learned how to use Revit at level three. I furthered my knowledge of BIM, CAD, and other computer-aided software for a further three years at University. This helped to advance my design strategies, understanding, accuracy, and representation.

My time at university has given me the experience I needed to understand the modern building standards and legislation along with the development of my core skills of design and architecture. with these new skills emerged my understanding of 3d form and the relationships that the creation of spaces can have with those experiencing it.

I spent three weeks in Malaysia and Singapore on a field trip study, to gain an understanding of the culture and the rich history of architecture found within a place with a diverse range of different cultures. to develop my final design for my RIBA part 1. this took the form of the 'Kolektif' a culture and community center in the heart of Melaka.
